Chives, glorious chives!
Wow, can life get any more amazing when you wrap an armful of chives into the cutest little bundles? I DON'T THINK SO. Today, find a fun recipe that includes chives as the main ingredient! Live loud! Make an uber-fabu squash casserole (with squash grown from your own garden, of course...hello, let's be sustainable)! Turn this ordinary Tuesday into something chive-tastic! Unless you're too lazy and don't care about feeding your children garden-fresh greens. If that's the case, then frowny face on YOU!

Yes, it's grapefruit juice!
I just love how the orangey-pink of my grapefruit juice coordinates with the hot pink napkin. This is how I always drink my breakfast--in a rocks glass with a perfect slice of orange. Heaven! Keep in mind, You MUST celebrate everything--even breakfast!

My paradise is already PAVED, honey!
They're cutting down some old oaks outside my window. It's a noisy process! Talk about living loud! Let the sun shine in, sister! I needed to widen the parking lot in front of my mansion, because I have SO many friends and SO many parties!!! Folks need space to park their SUVs, right? My dream is to have a tree-less view, one in which I see straight to the sun--and my dreams! Plus, I think the kids will enjoy the Vitamin D. Kaylee and the other two triplets have been looking downright vampire-ish lately. Ew. I want them to GLOW!

To-do list? DONE AND DONE!
After dropping Kaydynne and Adysen at VBS last night (oh, I love to drop "VBS" into regular conversation! Makes me feel so theologically superior!), I roasted s'mores for myself. Um, hello, mommy needs dinner, too, k? I mean, sure, this is a treat that kids love, but my darlings make a mess with the melted marshmallow and I'd JUST cleaned the marble countertops with organic lemon verbena cleanser. In my defense, I'd had a crappy challenging day--I mean, everything's fine! It's FINE! Always!--but I'm only halfway through my season discs of "Gilmore Girls" and I just thought I'd be farther along by now. Family drama got in the way...i.e., VBS drop-off and pick-up. Ugh. But you know what? Today, I am gonna have an uber-fabu day! I will put on a cute outfit from Anthropologie (b/c we have a lotta money), sit on the couch and finish up these season discs!

Ribollita--the fancy soup
Today, I'm taking a meal to my new pastor! He's a vegan, so I had to pull down all of my vegan cookbooks (I have several) from my walk-in pantry and whip up something non-meat and non-dairy. When you're as good a cook as I am, that's no big whoop. I went with ribollita, because it's a Tuscan soup, and it will impress him. Not that I need his validation or anyway. It's not like I'm in love with him or anything! When making ribollita, it's VERY important that you buy savoy cabbage--not regular cabbage. Regular cabbage is common; savoy is fancy. After you let all the ingredients simmer, the recipe tells you to top it with parmesan. Again, that's common. Make sure you use romano instead, k?
Oh, and the kids are great! Corey and Jesse are surpassing all of the toddler milestones. I'll post pix of them later.

Feel Inferior Friday
As the mom of two gorgeous six-month-old babes--Stella Arabella and Schuyler Bleu--I just wanna "talk potty" for a sec, k? Both of my sweeties woke up today and li'l Stella said, "No, thanks, I'm fine, I don't need diapers anymore." And then Schuyler--she's three minutes younger and therefore slower--said, "I second that." At first, I was, like, OMG, they can TALK. And then, I was, like, wow, why do parents complain so much about potty training? Maybe they don't love their kids as much as I do, and that's why it takes months--sometimes YEARS--to teach their kids to not "go" in their 100% fair trade cotton, hand-stitched, eco-friendly bloomers. {shrug}
More importantly, I'd like to share a pic of some sea glass I found on the beaches of Bermuda. I looooove Bermuda! If you've never been to Bermuda, you MUST go. (And if you wanna sound like a native, you must pronounce it "Ber-mooo-dia." You're welcome~!) So book your flight and get jazzed about going! Just pack a vintage-inspired swimsuit, a yummy hand-crocheted sarong and cutie-cute bejeweled sandals. Don't forget a sitter for the kids!
Have an uber-fabu weekend! Live LOUD. Live so loud that the people in Turkey hear you, give you dirty looks and say, "Shhh!" Hit some yard sales! Grill some grass-fed buffalo (mmm, yummy, yummy steaks)! Take lots of precious pix with your children! Go to the consignment shop and buy quirky, ironic outfits! Live LOUD! Go into the wood early in the morn and pick tiger lilies! LIVE LOUD!
